SCHOOLLIFE

THE SEA - ONE

I love the sea.

I love everything that goes with it.

Shore, sand, water, seagulls, beach houses, dunes, grass, sky coloured by water and land, villages facing sea, people that live there with story-telling faces, lighthouses, sun paled wood, all the washed up colours and children, dogs and horses running along great Mr. Sea.

But I never ‘really’ go there, never a toe in the sea, never feeling the water. Even on vacation I am just watching the sea. I have watched varies seas and oceans. I always imagine they watch back, waiting for me to put my foot in the water, walk a little further and maybe swim a bit and then they…

Watching.

A LITTLE MOVIE

A threeminuteshort about the impression you always have to travel to find some sea. You travel, you seek, you find. Are you happy?

Anyway, I love the sea.

ART

I came across this golden oldie from 2005. It shows that not everything will live to see the light of print.

This rural scene with sweet and lovely animals had nothing to fear. Until…one of them had to go. For all tender souls out there ‘he had something else to do, like save Bambi from the fire’. Or something similar important…
 Goodbye sweet prince.

SCHOOLLIFE

It was that time of the year again…

Part I

Autonomous Design

‘We were put on this earth and experience all these different impressions. It goes on and on and on. How do we process that.
 (You definitely understand me, sir.)

This autonomous work came together with help from my favourite peops (mom, dad and my homey). I needed there technical skills, their memories and stories, there photographs. It was one of the nicest things I ever made (so far).

Text of the Statement is only in Dutch.

Gewaarwording

Sensation

Statement

The collection is conceptual, like in conceptual art. This means that I have tried to make the individual subjective (my thoughts) common objective (the image you know). Look and understand. The sculptures will tell their story, even if it is a version of the concept. Your version.

Book
The book contains the statement, the collection, the sculptures, references to the art world and stories that needed to be told.

Let the truth never get in the way of a good story.

My very nice grade was accordingly to the understanding of my art professor. And boy, did he ever.

Fellow student works.
Very nice dr. Jones! (as in Indiana, who always did a real nice job)

Amazing work from Erna, Harm-Jan and Daan.
