Perceptuele Vormgeving Ruimtelijk
a.k.a. boetseren (in dit geval)

Perceptive Studies 3D
a.k.a. moulding (in this case)

Learning route: from a ‘square’ paprika (learning technique and observation) to a still live.

The final object is the only thing that resembles anything (even the original, which is a big deal), so that will be the only thing I'll donate to this blog. While studying I hoped to get the same feeling as when in kindergarten and happily moulded nice things which contained the all important proportions, perpendiculars and placing the objects correctly in space. But to bad, the older you get the more you ‘think’ you see the truth.

In ieder geval, ik vind hem leuk.

Anyway, I like the whole thing.

Autonome Vormgeving
Autonomus Design

Learning route: choose a location and study registration, aesthetics, perception and the meaning of this place. Put all of this together in the blender, pull of the lid while turning en make some sculptures.

My location: most Nordic sand atomising of the province of Gelderland (view from my studio).

Beelden / Sculptures

Colour of sand and sand and sand, iron as part of the autonomy of this area and red stands for 'hey, what is lying there?' (There is always something interesting lying around, like a shuffle of a dead squirrel and stuff like that).

Gesorteerd.

LIFE (or in this case DEATH)

“They took all the trees, and put ’em in a tree museum
And they charged the people a dollar and a half to see them
No, no, no, don’t it always seem to go
That you don’t know what you’ve got till it’s gone
They paved paradise, and put up a parkin’ lot”

Big Yellow Taxi, Counting Crows

‘It’s a good day for cuttin’ some trees, boy’.

The following images are not for the ones with a hart for nature.
Thirty-eight healthy, 30 year old Maple trees kicked the bucket today.

our tree

our tree and the remains of his brothers

Some people actually looked...happy.
My neighbor is standing in the street; she’s looking at the violence of the machines, listening to roaring of the saws. With a sparkle in her eyes she inhales the scent of freshly cut down trees.

it begins

and it ends

like it was never there

Ze zijn een paar bomen vergeten. Hoe lang zal dat duren...
They forgot some trees over there. For how long...

LIFE

Staren naar de muur
Soms gebeurt het. Staren.

Staring at the wall
Sometimes it happens. Staring. You have to think, so you stare. Preferably at something or someone that doesn’t distract you from your important thought.
Staring at your neighbour crawling in her flowerbeds, the grass that grows or a big, not to clean, wall at school.

Mine wasn’t as empty as expected (wall and thought, for that matter)

Schoollife

Vlieg per vak even mee…

Six months of school in a blink (of an eye)

After introduction and the ‘deforming’ of a plunger, things got serious and we went full speed ahead. September, October, November and December flew by, we prepared for landing in January, for judgment day. Exams. So we had to throw our tiered souls at the mercy of our judges.

Fly with me, one course at a time…
