Het maakte sommige mensen zelfs...gelukkig.
Mijn buurvrouw staat buiten en kijkt naar het geweld van de machines en luistert naar het brullen van de zagen. Met een twinkel in haar ogen snuift ze geur van omgehakte bomen eens diep op.

Hmmm, da's jammer. Ik snap wel waarom ze het gedaan hebben, maar het blijft jammer...
Trouwens, nog even een leuk feitje (of gezeur van die betweter): Big Yellow Taxi is oorspronkelijk niet van Counting Crows, maar is in 1970 al geschreven door Joni Mitchell.
Uiteraard is het beroemd geworden in de versie van Counting Crows. Leuke versie, maar voor mij, als grote Counting Crows fan, toch zeker niet 1 van de mooiste liedjes van ze....
Probeer eens naar de nummers op hun eerste album (August and Everything After te luisten). Nummers als Round Here, Omaha, Rain King en mijn persoonlijke favoriet Anna Begins... Niet heel toegankelijk, maar prachtig...
Ok, beetje off-topic.... Jammer van die bomen ...
