SCHOOLLIFE

Film project # 1
In this first project there were six of us. And all six of us had a job and a opinion. I wrote the script and passed it on to the next person. So it happened that someone became the actor, someone filmed, someone edited, someone took care of things, someone opened up her house as film hub, someone overlooked and someone found some great music. Then all six of us gave a little. And then it was ready.  And all six of us were happy.

We made a threeminuteshort
We are Van der Berg | Exel | Hoekstra | Quist | Spin and Untersalmberger.

What if all is done, all is remembered, all is lived.
Over and over. And still, you are here.

FORGOTTEN

NADIA

This is a great knitted cap and under it lives a gorgeous boy named Jasper.
I couldn’t stop watching this picture. And the cap.
(even if it is a little dark, oh well it’s fall time, darkness creeps in everywhere).

So it happened that Nadia had to had one. And now all she needs is a Jasper for company.

ART

Thinking about...

Eten        To eat

Mercat de la Boqueria (grote versmarkt), Barcelona, 2012

Spanje 2012.

Spain 2012.
Meat is not cheap, but we are hungry. Even if you can’t tell that by looking at us. With our big belly’s we gaze at the meat in front of us en fantasize about the moment it sizzles in oil and the delicious smells reach our brain.
So many meat. So many choice. Hungry.
Maybe today we will buy a bigger peace, we can eat a little less tomorrow.
Because it really is kind of expensive.
We do not have many means and times are rough. But food we still have. It’s fresh and it is calling on us. And we go to the market, that’s still a little cheaper.

We have a choice here. We can buy less food, less clothing, don’t visit the dentist, second-hand schoolbooks, a more affordable home.

Anyway, less food. Never.

WORK

A new illustration for all the offspring born at the end of august. It is still warm. In fact sometimes even warmer then June of July. There is a warm glow of the sun moving towards fall, pushing out the last of its radiant power. There is still so much life en movement in the air, in the water, in nature. It is a lovely time.

Illustration front of the card and below the illustration for the inside. The little duck-story continues.

HOT DOG

My ‘bleak-summer’ remark bit me in the ass. This weekend we almost turned to dust (as the high sandy grounds we live on in this area). It was thirty-eight degrees.

Mr. Majestic came to life under a big wet pink towel. He smiled with relief.

ART

Maybe it isn't the right time for tulips, but it is always the right time for sunshine (especially as we type, it’s a bleak summer in these low lands).
